Unnamed agents of the Indian government are alleged to have been involved in violent crimes in Canada, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) said on Monday. As a result of the investigation, Canada expelled six Indian diplomats from Canada, including the Indian high commissioner, after unearthing evidence that they are “persons of interest” in crimes in Canada. In a statement, Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Joly said keeping Canadians safe is the fundamental job of the Canadian government. The investigation also uncovered a link between Indian diplomats and activities such as the gathering of information on Canadians on the orders of New Delhi. As well, he said victims of coercion or other crimes involving Indian agents should come forward.

WASHINGTON - Donald Trump is invoking a vision of an extreme new White House term that would transform America and rock the world. And Vice President Kamala Harris has only three weeks to avert it, as she struggles to restore momentum in a neck-and-neck race to Election Day. Trump also said CBS should lose its license because he faults its editorial choices over a Harris interview on “60 Minutes” that he declined to sit for. And a Supreme Court ruling granting presidents substantial immunity suggests few impediments to imperial executive power. One must question, are they afraid that people will see that he is too weak and unstable?” she asked.

Given the current international economic conditions, these nations are increasingly vulnerable to price shocks and natural disasters, lacking any recourse from global organisations as market-related support has vanished. Instead of addressing what should be our primary objective—lifting millions out of poverty and creating a stable economy—resources are being diverted elsewhere. China and India have successfully lifted millions from poverty in recent decades. The report paints a damning picture of a world prioritising imperialist warmongering, leaving the most vulnerable to fend for themselves. The future looks increasingly bleak unless we shift our focus to genuinely supporting these countries and their people.

MUNICH, Germany: A 63-minute rocket from debutant Jamie Leweling gave Germany a 1-0 win over a limp Netherlands in Munich on Monday and a first appearance in the Nations League knockout rounds. Leweling had an early goal ruled out for the tightest of offsides before blasting in a loose ball from a Joshua Kimmich corner. “We had lots of new players, some young players, unfortunately lots of injuries but you didnt notice much of a difference. The coach gave Leweling and Oliver Baumann their first caps, while Aleksandar Pavlovic and Angelo Stiller started for the first time. Despite pressing the Dutch into a series of mistakes playing out from goal, Germany failed to carve another clear opportunity in the first half.

The strike was a shock to residents, and it exacerbated fears that Israel would expand its offensive deeper into Lebanon. Some 1.2 million people have fled southern and eastern Lebanon, where the fighting between Israel and Hezbollah has been concentrated. Hezbollah has fired thousands of rockets into Israel over the past year in support of Hamas’ war with Israel in Gaza. Israel’s ensuing war against Hamas has left more than 42,000 people dead in Gaza, according to local health officials. “Over the coming days, additional US military personnel and THAAD battery components will continue to arrive in Israel,” Ryder said.

This year’s conference will put the space minds of two top rivals – the U.S. and China – under one roof. “This is the most exciting time in space since the Apollo era in the 1960s,” he told Reuters. NASA administrator Bill Nelson is expected to rally support at IAC for agency’s strategy to tap private companies to replace the ageing International Space Station after its 2030 retirement. The U.S. and China are also racing to land this decade the first humans on the moon since the last American Apollo mission in 1972. The two space powers are aggressively courting partner countries and leaning heavily on private companies for their moon programmes, shaping the space objectives of smaller space agencies along the way.

A few years ago, a quiet tech revolution began brewing in Pakistan’s labyrinthine retail sector. As Pakistan’s tech sector finally started to attract serious amounts of venture capital from global investors, the sector that attracted the most money by far were the multiple players that set about trying to modernise this large segment of the Pakistani economy. Four companies jumped into the fray, and each raised massive sums of money, or at least massive by Pakistani standards: Bazaar ($108 million in total capital raised), Dastgyr ($41 million raised), Retailo ($60 million raised), and Tajir ($19 million raised). The thesis was straightforward: the retail sector may have narrow margins, but its filled with multiple layers of middlemen for every product. Three of the four companies got their start in 2020, with only Tajir having started earlier in 2018.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has unveiled a stringent set of conditions as part of its $7 billion rescue package for Pakistan, reflecting a tough but expected approach. To achieve these aims, the government has committed to a comprehensive overhaul of its tax system, energy sector reforms, and deregulation. This move, while aimed at fostering fairness, poses challenges for attracting foreign investment, particularly from China, which has been a significant player under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The conditions set forth by the IMF, particularly regarding the elimination of incentives for foreign companies, may hinder the government’s plans to attract investment, especially from China. The coming months will be pivotal in determining the country’s economic trajectory and the success of the IMF’s program.
