According to a statement issued by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor’s Office, the participants of the 18th National Workshop Balochistan visited the Governor House Peshawar. Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi welcomed the participants of the workshop on their arrival at the Governor House Peshawar and extended New Year greetings. He said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police is a brave and highly professional force, unfortunately the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police has not received the weapons and facilities required to combat terrorism, our province is now facing Indian-backed terrorism from the Afghan border. He said that the province is not getting any benefit from the production of oil, gas and electricity in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The Islamabad High Court has set January 21 for the hearing of the case regarding the suspension of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan’s X (formerly Twitter)account. United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres condemned on Wednesday a move by Israel to ban electricity or water to facilities owned by the UN Palestinian refugee agency, a UN spokesperson said. The spokesperson said the move would “further impede” the agency’s ability to operate and carry out activities. Property used by UNRWA is inviolable,” Stephane Dujarric, spokesman for the secretary-general, said while adding that UNRWA is an “integral” part of the world body. In 2024, the Israeli parliament passed a law banning the agency from operating in the country and prohibiting officials from having contact with the agency.
