The bribery case against NCCIA officers was heard before the FIA Central Court judge, in which the court approved the bails of two more officers while Additional Director Chaudhry Sarfraz’s bail was rejected. The court approved the bails of NCIA Deputy Director Zawar and Deputy Director Usman, on whose behalf Advocate Farooq Bajwa appeared in the court, while Advocate Mian Ali Ashfaq argued on behalf of Additional Director Chaudhry Sarfraz. Additional Director Chaudhry Sarfraz’s lawyer said in his statement that the FI could not present evidence of bribery against the accused. Islamabad: Details have come to light regarding how many billions of dollars the government borrowed externally in the first 5 months of the current fiscal year. The value of the loan received in 5 months is 858 billion 27 crore rupees in Pakistani currency, which is 117 billion rupees more than the 741 billion rupees received in the same period last year. Sources said that more than 531 billion rupees were received under non-project aid. In the first 5 months of the financial year, a Saudi oil facility of 141 billion 76 crore rupees was received. At least eight terrorists of a banned organisation were killed in a joint operation by police and Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in Daraish Khel area of Karak in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Tuesday, Dunya News reported. Karak police, together with the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), conducted a joint operation to chase the militants. A speeding van went out of control and crashed into a tree in Sargodha, resulting in the deaths of three people. According to details, the high-speed van lost control on Khushab Road in Sargodha and slammed into a tree. The horrific accident left three people dead on the spot, while ten others were injured. The privatisation of Pakistan International Airlines has entered its decisive stage after the Arif Habib consortium emerged as the successful bidder, securing a 75 percent stake in the national carrier with a final offer of Rs135billion. During an intense series of incremental offers, Lucky Cement raised its bid to Rs115.5 billion, prompting Arif Habib to counter with Rs116 billion. Earlier, in the first phase of the privatisation process, three pre-qualified bidders had submitted sealed offers for the airline. Two of them, Arif Habib and Lucky Cement, submitted bids exceeding the government’s reference price of Rs100 billion, while Air Blue (Private) Limited offered Rs26.5 billion. He described the sale as a major milestone, noting that Pakistan had not completed a large-scale privatisation transaction in nearly two decades.
