The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is a benchmark project of China’s “Belt and Road”initiative. From 2015 to 2030, CPEC will create a total of 2.3 million jobs, bringing more than 2.5% of annual growth to Pakistan’s GDP. In recent years, attacks on the CPEC have also increased, killing the lives of innocent Chinese citizens. On July 28, 2021, two Chinese citizens in Karachi, Sindh, were shot on a bus out near the Gulbai Bridge injuring one of them. At the same time, all measures will ensure the safety of Chinese citizens in Pakistan and never allow such incidents to happen again.

The Pakistan Information Commission (PIC) has directed the Federal Board of Revenue’s chairman to provide information about the individuals and companies who reaped benefits from the amnesty scheme given during the tenure of former premier Nawaz Sharif. The appellant stated that he had submitted information requests to the FBR chairman on March 5, 2018. He added that the introduction of any tax amnesty scheme for tax evaders was “nothing but the height of immorality fully sponsored by the state”. The government, instead of entertaining any such scheme, should seriously consider introducing an “asset-seizure scheme to confiscate undeclared and untaxed assets created from black money,” he contended and stressed the need for laws to bring back “looted money from tax cheaters”. However, the tax authority rejected the request of the applicant due to prohibition under section 216 of the Ordinance, 2021.

At least four million people have been affected by the worst floods in Bangladesh s northeast for nearly two decades, the United Nations said Monday. In this disaster, as in most others, children are the most vulnerable,” said Sheldon Yett, UNICEF Representative to Bangladesh. Floods are a regular menace to millions of people in low-lying Bangladesh and neighbouring northeast India, but many experts say that climate change is increasing their frequency, ferocity and unpredictability.

Yet Pakistan’s armed forces’ infinite morale to defend national sovereignty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year is notable. Khan, once a symbol of openness and modernity, has made a career out of vague, eye-popping speeches to malign armed forces. Meanwhile, the PTI’s moral collapse has uncaged the naked attempts not only to test armed forces patience but also the nation’s patience. Such attempts are manifested through direct, insinuated, or nuanced references to armed forces as a part of the organised propaganda campaign. Nevertheless, our armed forces deserve utmost respect and gratitude to keep the sovereignty of the motherland intact.
