India has rejected the visa applications of Pakistani-origin players of the US cricket team. Ali Khan’s Instagram story made it clear that he is currently not allowed to enter India. This situation is also worrying because most of the matches of the US in Group A are scheduled in India. According to sources, several associate teams are worried about visa issues ahead of the matches in India, especially those players with Pakistani backgrounds or documents, as their applications are subject to additional scrutiny. This situation has made administrative issues an unnecessary discussion ahead of the tournament.

By abandoning the pretext of ideology in favor of overt resource seizure, the United States risks accelerating the very fragmentation it seeks to arrest. The Trap of Strategic OverstretchThe primary contradiction of the Donroe Doctrine lies in its divergence from the prudent strategy of contraction. Instead of consolidating power, the Donroe Doctrine risks bogging the U.S. down in a resource war that drains the treasury while domestic infrastructure crumbles. The Donroe Doctrine attempts to solve a problem that doesn’t exist (supply shortage) with a solution (military occupation) that creates a problem that does (instability). In the final analysis, the Donroe Doctrine is a strategic anachronism.

WASHINGTON : US President Donald Trump has options to intervene in protest-hit Iran that range from low to high risk, but choosing his course depends on him deciding his ultimate goal. Iran has been a sworn foe of the United States since the 1979 Islamic revolution toppled the pro-Western shah. The downfall of the Islamic republic in power since then would transform the Middle East. But Trump has previously lashed out against “regime change” as a goal, especially pointing to lessons from US involvement in Iraq, a smaller country. Pahlavi and a number of Republican hawks have voiced opposition to diplomacy, warning it would only give the Islamic republic a lifeline.

In a world racing to secure critical minerals for technology, energy, and green growth, Pakistan could become a strategic hub. Transparency, policy reform, and international partnerships are required to turn raw potential into global economic impact. Besides the industrial minerals, Pakistan’s gemstones are estimated to be worth around $450 billion, which consist of emeralds, peridot, ruby, topaz, and aquamarine. “PMIF26 will serve as a key platform for promoting mining awareness, stimulating economic activity, and attracting sustainable investment into Pakistan’s mineral sector,” the minister stated. The unification of the community, policy, and technology is a prerequisite for transforming Pakistan’s mining industry from a purely extractive enterprise into a strategic engine of growth.
