Nation to observe Youm-e-Taqaddus-e-Quran on FridayThe government will observe Youm-e-Taqaddus-e-Quran on Friday to hold countrywide protest demonstrations against the desecration of Holy Quran in Sweden. The decision was made in a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad to discuss the issue of desecration of Holy Quran in Sweden. The prime minister appealed for participation in the protest to convey a united message to the mischievous minds. A summit of leaders of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states began in virtual mode on Tuesday, with Iran expected to become a full member of the bloc at the session. Also at this year's SCO Council of Heads of State, Kazakhstan will be taking over as chair of the eight-nation group from the 23rd summit's host, India. Addressing the summit, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said he was "happy Iran is becoming a member of SCO grouping," adding that the summit would also pave the way for Belarus to become a permanent member of the bloc. All SCO member states — China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan — were invited to the summit, while Iran, Belarus, and Mongolia were invited as observer states, the ministry said earlierRussian President Vladimir Putin, China President Xi Jinping, Pakistan Premier Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif are among those attending the summit. The 23rd martyrdom anniversary of Sher Khan will be observed today across the country. Captain Karnal Sher Khan was a crusader from the very beginning and a very fearless officer. He was named Karnal Sher Khan by his grandfather who as a volunteer went to Kashmir and fought against the Indian aggressors under a commander called Colonel Sher Khan.

Addressing the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation’s (SCO) virtual summit hosted by India on Tuesday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stressed on the importance of countering terrorism and emphasised that minorities should not be discriminated against for political gains. “Terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, including state terrorism, must be condemned in clear and unambiguous terms. There can be no justification for the killing of innocent people regardless of the cause or pretext.”He emphasised that religious minorities should not be demonised in the “pursuit of domestic political agendas”. "SCO countries must take concerted and immediate actions, both, in their national capacities as well as collectively...to combat the three evils of terrorism, extremism and separatism." Afghan soil, Modi told the virtual summit of SCO leaders, should not be allowed to be used to destabilise its neighbourhood.

Despite the passage of half a century the ‘Assigned Domains’ remain fuzzy. He came to the court premises, tendered his resignation, handed over his official vehicle and drove back in his personal car. The ‘Constitutional Assigned Domains’ have to be respected and obeyed. Constitutional domains are well defined. Hopefully sanity will prevail with strict enforcement of constitutional domains.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon on Monday directed the officers concerned to take legal action against culprits involved in secretly disposing of the bodies of new-born children. Bodies of neonates are found from garbage dumps and desolate places, he said directing officers to investigate and bring the culprits to justice. It was inhuman and a legal violation too to kill or abandon an unwanted child. He issued these directions in a letter to the Additional IGP - Karachi, Deputy IGPs of all zones and ranges and all district SSPs. The Sindh Police chief said it was a criminal act and punishable under Sections 328 and 329 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).
