‘Ab Gaon Chamkein Ge’ programme launched
LAHORE - The caretaker Punjab government’s revolutionary programme ‘Ab Gaon Chamkein Ge’ (now the villages will shine) kicks-off in the district on Tuesday. Deputy Commissioner Ali Anan Qamar inaugurated the project in the union council by lifting garbage. Assistant Commissioner Kamran Sagheer, Chief Officer District Council Imran Sindhu and others were present on the occasion. The Chief Justice Sindh High Court Ahmed Ali Shaikh inaugurated plantation drive by planting a Mango sapling. Kashmiris across globe observe India’s I-Day as black day
People from diverse segments of civil society including social, political, and other public representative organisations attended the rallies holding black flags and wearing black bands around their arms to mark Indian Independence Day as black day. The leaders said India was rejoicing on its freedom but killing Kashmiris for demanding the same. A multi-layer security blanket involving helicopter reconnaissance and drone surveillance was put in place to ensure smooth conduct of India’s Independence Day celebrations in Kashmir. In his statement, Pakistan People’s Party PPP (Shaheed Bhutto) AJK chapter chief Muneer Hussain Ch Advocate has said that Indian independence day was observed as black day to express hatred against the Indian illegal occupation over their motherland. 16 names shortlisted for cabinet posts
The caretaker government has shortlisted the names of 16 individuals to be taken in the first round of the federal cabinet, sources said on Tuesday. Insiders have revealed that columnist Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema, industrialist Gohar Ejaz, veteran civil servant Shoaib Suddle, and Senator Sarfaraz Bugti have all been confirmed to join the caretaker federal cabinet. In addition, Mohammad Ali is set to be given the energy ministry portfolio, while cricketer Shahid Afridi will serve as the federal minister in charge of inter-provincial coordination. The development came as Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar has reportedly intensified the consultation process for appointing individuals to the interim cabinet. According to sources, the caretaker prime minister has chosen to have a smaller cabinet and personally review the profiles of all potential candidates.

She is preceded in death by 5 siblings and her husband, Sonny Eades. She is survived by her children, Doreen Williams, Edward George (Rose-Ann) and Christopher George; 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

New roundabout in Irondale to open Wednesday

The roundabout project began in February of 2022 in conjunction with the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) and will finally see drivers tomorrow, many of whom have potentially never used a roundabout before. Helen Hays, Director of Public Information, said there are several benefits to a roundabout that informed the county’s decision to build one. 'Coke Studio' singer Asad Abbas passes away
Folk singer Asad Abbas, who was in dire need of financial assistance due to his failing health, has passed away, as per an announcement on his Facebook handle. The post announcing his demise reads, "May the Almighty Allah expand his grave and give Asad Abbas eternal peace. Abbas appeared in CS6 opposite Fariha Parvez for the song Mahi Gal – a folk number based on raag Malhar. In May, renowned composer and music producer Rohail Hyatt had shared a message detailing Abbas’s condition to make a plea on his behalf: “The very talented folk singer Asad Abbas, who also appeared in season 6 of Coke Studio is in dire need of our support. AJK PM says India’s treatment of minorities vindicates two-nation theory
MUZAFFARABAD: Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq has said that India’s treatment of religious minorities vindicates that the two-nation theory and Muslims' demand for a separate homeland was absolutely right and justified.
