Ownership Review - 2023 Tata Punch (Creative Variant)My Likes:Looks – The mini Tata is a looker, no two ways about it. On the day of the car's launch, I visited the local Tata dealership, and unsurprisingly, I found the sales advisor to be lacking enthusiasm. Meanwhile, the news of a new Tata dealership that had come up in Mangalore caught my attention. And so did the updated BS6 Phase-2 version of the Tata Punch. However, folks at home weren't too keen on a Tata car, and I decided not to push my case further.

Second place in our blind Negroni tasting in 2024 went to Jeffrey Morgenthaler of Portland’s Pacific Standard, whose equal-parts construction was identified as such immediately by the judges, who found it to best satisfy the qualifications for the pre-dinner Negroni role. Compared to the gin-forward builds that made up the majority of entries, this one felt rounder and richer, without veering towards syrupy. As one judge described, it was “the poster child for the classic Negroni.”

A New York judge is expected to issue a ruling Friday that could shatter Donald Trump’s business empire and force him to pay up to $370 million over fraud allegations. He is accused of unlawfully inflating his wealth and manipulating the value of his properties to obtain more favorable bank loans or insurance terms. As the case is civil rather than criminal, there is no threat of jail time. In New York, Trump appeared in court ahead of a trial, where he faces charges of illegally covering up hush money payments, the first criminal trial of a former US president. Trump’s lawyers were also representing him in Atlanta, Georgia, where he is accused of conspiracy to overturn the 2020 election, which he lost to Biden.

Ministers from Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger Republic plan to proceed with the establishment of a confederation, the Malian foreign ministry said on Thursday. This was as the three countries deepened ties via an alliance that threatened broader West African integration. All three were founding members of the regional bloc in 1975 but had been suspended following military coups that overthrew elected civilian governments. The procedures will “allow our alliance and the confederation to function efficiently and to the great joy” of the three countries’ populations, his Niger counterpart General Salifou Modi said. The juntas have all severed long-standing military ties with former colonial ruler France, dealing a blow to France’s influence in the Sahel and complicating international efforts to fight the militants linked to al Qaeda and Islamic State.

This was as Abure, on Thursday, challenged the suspended National Treasurer of the party, Oluchi Opara, to provide concrete evidence to back her N3.5bn fraud allegation against him. An emotional Opara however lamented that she felt betrayed, even by the LP presidential candidate, who, she said, was aware of the alleged fraud. The Yoruba nation activist, Chief Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has said to tackle the insecurity and poverty presently ravaging the country, patience and careful planning would be required. Igboho’s response came following a statement credited to the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Abubakar, regarding the rising insecurity and poverty in the country. “This worrisome development has been one of the major causes of food insecurity and increase in prices of food items and commodities. We need to allow the incumbent administration to explore all measures being deployed to address inflation, foreign exchange issues, and exorbitant foodstuff prices, which will soon yield results. Also, the plan to set up National Commodity Board will checkmate escalating food inflation.”.
