Alabi also called for the empowerment of farmers in primary food production either in livestock or crop cultivation to enhance food security. “When the government begins to look at the major causes of food inflation through primary food production, then we can have ripple effects on food inflation, if not we will just keep deceiving ourselves. The last of these popular misconceptions which I consider worth mentioning in this talk is that Politics and Religion do not mix. I want to admit, without the least hesitation, that Politics is essentially materialistic and that Religion is fundamentally spiritual. The eradication of ignorance, disease and want is a matter of the utmost concern to Politics as well as to Religion. In many modem States, what we see is not a separation of Politics from Religion but a division of labour between them. Many great names in Politics drawing their inspiration from Religion also suffered or died for the same cause.

Climate change is already resulting in the loss and damage of cultural heritage sites; this loss is not limited to historical heritage sites alone; it is also affecting communities and their cultural traditions. However, there have been frequent reports of large-scale disasters across heritage sites; these disasters have caused widespread damage to the heritage sites and the cities. Therefore, there is a need for a specialised approach to disaster risk management of heritage sites. In light of the disaster challenges, there is a need to develop disaster risk management strategies for heritage sites, which is paramount in overall planning and management. This planning will require skilled professionals, administrators, and policymakers who can consider various aspects of developing risk management plans for heritage sites.

TikTok’s lawsuit, filed in a Washington federal court, argues that the law infringes on First Amendment rights, particularly regarding free speech. In its response, the US government asserts that the law is designed to address national security concerns rather than free speech issues. Officials also highlighted national security concerns, noting that China has been actively pursuing large datasets of Americans through various means, including cyber activity and data purchases. TikTok has challenged the divestiture requirement, arguing that it is “simply not possible” to meet the deadline stipulated by the law. That effort was stalled by a federal judge who blocked Trump’s actions, citing overstated reasons and potential threats to free speech.

Isoko youths in Delta state have urged President Bola Tinubu to dialogue with the proposed nationwide protest organisers as well as reviewing some of his administration’s policies that are causing hardship to Nigerians. The youths under the aegis of Isoko National Youth Assembly (INYA) Worldwide also appealed to the youths in the country and security agencies to avoid violent protests and destruction of national and state assets if the protest goes ahead due to failure to dialogue . The proposed protest is only a natural response which is the least the vast majority of those who live below the baseline can do at this material time. “Revaluate its priorities and address head-on on issues such as inflation, insecurity and high cost of governance. No one benefits from the destruction of national assets, if anything, it increases the suffering which the protest stands against.”ALSO READ THESE TOP STORIES FROM NIGERIAN TRIBUNE

He stated this against the backdrop of the newly approved minimum wage of N70,000 by President Bola Tinubu which was also passed into law on Tuesday by the National Assembly. Ali argued that the current system of a uniform national minimum wage did not account for the economic disparities between states, which could lead to adverse outcomes such as job losses and financial strain on less affluent states. Labour unions, on the other hand, staunchly opposed this move, arguing that it could lead to disparities in workers’ pay and conditions across different states. He stated, “Ensuring a fair minimum wage is not only a matter of economic justice but also a fundamental aspect of maintaining social stability and national cohesion. We all claim that we are running a federal system.
