Other connections include her links to the Northern Irish city of Derry. One of their six children, Mary, became Swift’s great-great-grandmother, according to the museum. The museum is running a Swift tour, which will end on Thursday, and says it will showcase her roots, with references to William Butler Yeats’ poems in her music.

The Parc Road Safety Group has called for an end to a loophole for learner drivers and for tougher enforcement on disqualified drivers ordered to surrender their licence. Drivers are currently able to repeatedly renew their learner permits by simply applying for a driving test, but not sitting it. She said the current system lends itself to learners simply renewing their permit and disqualified drivers remaining on the road without getting caught. They have made learners realise ‘ah sure I can keep rolling over my learner permit’. She also spoke about a recent report in The Irish Times revealing just one in 10,000 disqualified drivers surrender their licence after being ordered to do so by the courts.

The unit has two USB ports, but you can add a USB hub if you need to plug in more than two USB devices. The Jackery 240 supports a maximum continuous load of 200W, so you need to be mindful of the types of items you plug in. And for two years, World Health Organisation (WHO)member states have been negotiating an international agreement scheduled for adoption at the World Health Assembly this month. While the public mood is to quietly forget about the Covid-19 pandemic, science suggests this would be a bad move. Additional urgency for a pandemic agreement comes from the continued emergence of avian flu, aka the H5N1 virus. The H5N1 variant has become “a global zoonotic animal pandemic”, according to the WHO’s Chief Scientist, Dr Jeremy Farrar. Without trust, countries won’t report outbreaks promptly, and they won’t freely exchange epidemiologic information, virus samples, and sequencing data.

He stated he had asked for recruitment for the first new 96-bed block to commence in 2024 for “immediate readiness” in 2025. “I have mandated that all steps are taken to accelerate the second 96-bed block to be built here at UHL, having sanctioned enabling works for that project last year.
