Roman Yaremchuk hits late winner as Ukraine battle back to beat SlovakiaPA Sport StaffSubstitute Roman Yaremchuk scored a late winner as Ukraine came from behind to beat Slovakia 2-1 in Group E at the Dusseldorf Arena and keep alive hopes of qualification for the last 16 of Euro 2024. Ivan Schranz had put Slovakia – looking to build on their shock win over Belgium – ahead early in the first half. Mykola Shaparenko drew Ukraine level soon after the restart before Yaremchuk slotted in a well-taken finish with 10 minutes left. Just before half-time, Trubin made another fine save to push away Haraslin’s low drive from the edge of the box. Ukraine, though, found a late winner when Shaparenko clipped a pass up towards Yaremchuk, who took the ball down from over his shoulder with a deft touch before stabbing it past Dubravka.

This Cosori airfryer is incredibly easy to operate and clean. I'm hooked and I think for the foreseeable future I will be using this almost every day. While not quite restaurant quality (restaurants use oil fryers) the Cosori comes incredibly close and shaves about 10 min of cooking time. - Reheating steak that I cooked to a rare temp the night before on the pan: no complaints and super easy to clean afterwards. - Bacon: Way faster, way cleaner (and can easily save the bacon fat) and turned out perfect.

Three-quarters of the 193 United Nations member nations have recognised a Palestinian state, including Ireland and Spain, although none of the major Western powers has done so. On Friday the Israeli military said two soldiers were killed in combat in central Gaza, while three were severely injured. One soldier killed was the son of the one the first Israeli Olympic medalists, according to the country’s Olympic Committee. Israel’s Olympic Committee said they “bowed their heads in deep pain” with the Olympic medalist and coach, who helped train the current Israeli Olympic judo team. Israel launched the war after Hamas’s October 7 attack, in which militants stormed into southern Israel, killed some 1,200 people — mostly civilians — and abducted about 250.

Ger Rogers PhotoContrasting vibes surrounding Offaly hurling and footballKEVIN EGAN COLUMNOut of the range of plausible outcomes from last Saturday’s game in Tullamore, it’s hard to imagine a more positive result than the one that Offaly achieved up against Cork, competing well for long stretches and ultimately losing out by a single-digit margin. As a footnote to a wonderful year however, it will be a huge source of encouragement to everyone involved. The contrastMeanwhile, it’s getting harder and harder to be positive about the short and medium term future for Offaly football. Out of 28 Division One League games played, just eight were decided by a goal or less, and three of those were in the first two rounds of games, played back in March on poor surfaces when scoring was much tougher. “We need to have a good open mind and thinking what’s best for the game of hurling.

Price of fuel at the pumps shows monthly declineThe price of fuel at the pumps has begun to fall, new figures for June show. The latest AA fuel price survey showed the cost of petrol fell by an average of 4c a litre this month, while diesel dropped by 5c. The average price for a litre of petrol this month was €1.79, while it was €1.71 for diesel. "The early part of the year saw significant volatility in fuel prices mainly due to unplanned refinery outages in Europe and strikes on Russian refineries," AA Ireland's Jennifer Kilduff said, commenting on the June figures. Weaker demand in the US has resulted in high fuel stock levels amid increased production, and delays in interest rate cuts by US banks have also contributed to lower international fuel prices."

She says we’ve been socialised to think of female body hair as “unhygienic, disgusting, unfeminine, and contaminated”. It took another academic, Professor Karin Lesnik-Oberstein, 20 years to find a publisher for her 2007 book The Last Taboo: Women & Body Hair. If they mention it at all, it’s to advocate either “not practising hair removal in order to return to a ‘natural’ body, or celebrating hair removal as “an enjoyment of beautification”. Pic: iStockHistory of hair-removalHumans have always removed their body hair: The ancient Egyptians invented sugaring, a precursor to waxing, as they associated body hair not with gender but with social hierarchy (only servants were hairy). As the second wave of feminism began in the 1960s, female body hair became a battleground.
