Councils can talk a good game about keeping care local but as users can attest they have done a worse than awful job managing the control of the care service with little or no accountability. Would you think the hospital was doing a professional job maintaining life-giving care and that that standard was acceptable and did not need to change? The Cabrach Trust is doing everything it can to safeguard the community. We fully respect that renewable energy forms a key part of the Cabrach’s regeneration, but The Cabrach Trust is seeking balance and fairness. Taylor holds off bloodied Serrano to retain undisputed crown
Ireland's Katie Taylor defended her undisputed junior-welterweight crown in controversial fashion on Friday with a unanimous points victory over bloodied Puerto Rican rival Amanda Serrano. The 36-year-old Serrano, though, was rocked by a headbutt from Taylor in the early rounds which left her with a horrific one-inch gash above her right eye. Yet Serrano's display was not enough to impress the judges who scored it 95-94 in favor of Taylor. Friday's bout was a rematch of Taylor and Serrano's epic 2022 fight at Madison Square Garden, won by Taylor with a split decision. Taylor said she was willing to sign up for a third fight against Serrano after her latest win.

Strangely, however, it is mostly documented in late twentieth-century sources, but that probably shows how it lives on in the collective memory. “For the common folk, the cludgie was a communal affair. The landings and half landings of tenement stairs became the lair of the loo, shared between up to six families. There are still people today telling terrifying tales of childhood late night trips to the freezing lavvy on the landing. Other Scots “toilet” words are frequently incorporated in the term too, cludgie being one of them - as in this example: “Sandra laughs: ‘The kids, who are used to large bathrooms and en suite toilets, thought the “stairheid cludgie” (or shared communal toilet) was very bizarre’”.

Couple accused of money laundering €21m using money mules and cryptocurrency
Tom TuiteA married couple were arrested in Dublin over an international money laundering operation with €21 million allegedly transferred through online banks and cryptocurrency accounts, a court has heard. The couple faced bail objections during separate hearings before Judge John Campbell on Saturday. A German national had €10,000 transferred from his bank to a Paytend digital bank account of Mr Wang. Detective Garda Cusack conducted inquiries with Paytend regarding Jixu Wang, and it was alleged the accused used his Chinese passport number on the account. It was claimed that there were other unusual transactions between another Paytend account held by his wife, Ye Wang, who is a qualified accountant.

'Avoid Florida like the plague' may be new state motto | Letters
But if I were part of a family of child-bearing age, I would avoid Florida like the plague. This isn’t my parents’ Florida – or even the Florida of 20 years ago when I moved here. Since 2018, Florida has made significant cuts in the social programs that support low-income families. I hope that the state will fully fund the agencies that support low-income families and the mothers who were forced to carry a child that her family couldn’t afford/didn’t want. I would also hope the state would offer low-income women free contraception so they can avoid being forced to have a baby.
