St Barry's come unstuck in Connacht semi final
Ballymote Round Towers cruised to the Connacht Junior Football Final with a straightforward 2-16 to 0-9 win over St. Barry’s in Markievicz Park. The first half was a cagey affair, with Ballymote putting much of the pressure on the Roscommon Junior champions, but the defence held strong to only go in 0-4 to 0-3 down at the break. Ballymote’s quality told in the second half as they got the games opening goal in the 33rd minute through substitute Malachy Healy. Barry’s petered out of the game completely, and a late goal courtesy of a Zak O’Dowd high ball that slipped through goalkeeper Oisin Fallon’s gloves summed up Barry’s day. Ballymote now progress through to the Connacht final against Galway side An Cheathrú Rua in two weeks time while St. Barry's will be playing Intermediate football next year.

Jake Paul beat boxing legend Mike Tyson by unanimous decision to win an intergenerational heavyweight battle in Texas on Friday that failed to live up to its enormous hype. The bout between the 27-year-old social media influencer-turned-prizefighter Paul and the 58-year-old former heavyweight champion Tyson was streamed live on Netflix and played out in front of a sold-out crowd at AT&T Stadium in Arlington. Those fans were left largely disappointed as Tyson showed his age and was never able to generate any offence against his younger opponent, landing just 18 punches to Paul's 78. “First and foremost, Mike Tyson — it's an honour to be able to fight him,” said Paul. “It was as tough and hard as I thought it would be.”Tyson, who wore a knee brace, never mounted much of a challenge after being wobbled by some left hands in the third round but did enough defensively to avoid taking any serious damage.

But it will be seen as a setback for the Labour Government, which is looking to life science firms such as Astra to turbo-charge growth in the UK. Soriot's aim is to lift that to half of the total by 2030, by which time he has pledged to be making $80 billion (£63 billion) a year. He added: 'Losing AstraZeneca from the FTSE 100 would be a blow for the stock exchange – but realistically this looks unlikely in the near-term.' Soriot respects the UK's prowess in life sciences and the company has no intention of moving its share listing to the US.
