According to him, Farida Mahama does not have a Facebook account, neither does she have an Instagram account. John Dramani Mahama noted that measures have been put in place to notify Facebook about the incident for necessary actions to be taken. In the meantime, however, the former president has cautioned the public, urging them to desist from engaging accounts or persons propagating to be account owners in Farida’s name. In a Facebook post sighted by GhanaWeb, the former president said, “We want to inform the general public especially the Facebook Community and media houses that Ms. Farida Dramani Mahama does not have a Facebook account, neither has she or her parents sanctioned the creation of a Facebook Group in her name. The general public is kindly advised to desist from any engagements with the said account believing that it is Farida Dramani Mahama,” part of the statement read.

Pending his retirement in early August, today is his last day in office as COP George Akuffo Dampare, the Director General in Charge of Administration; assumes the role of IGP effective August 1. The parade was held with male and female personnel clad in ceremonial uniforms forming different rows and following instructions from the parade commander. They later sang celebratory songs (known in local parlance as jama), all of them in face masks in observance of COVID-19 protocols. Talk of masks, most of the officials including the outgoing IGP wore a customized mask that had his face and details of the farewell parade. He also called on staff to support the incoming Acting IGP George Akuffo Dampare in the discharge of his mandate as police chief.

Speaking on Citi FM's Face to Face program last Monday, Sam George said that the aspect of the bill that talks about the criminalization of oral sex speaks specifically to oral sex between persons of same sex. “I have heard a lot of those misconceptions that Sam George is banning sex positions, blow jobs… I’m a heterosexual man and I enjoy my sex. It means that this interpretation of sexual intercourse is relative to section 6 of the act. The draft bill which found its way to the public space generated controversy with Sam George clashing with a number of celebrities and foreign politicians.
