Ten vie for PGA top executive positions
Ten candidates are contesting for the five executive positions– w Captain, Vice-Captain, Tournament Director, Vice-tournament Director and Treasurer. John Mawuli Nyarko from the Centre of the World Golf Club and Stephen Kwame Klah of the Achimota Golf Club are contesting for the Captaincy position. Lucky Annan Ayisah of the Achimota Golf Club and Kojo Barnni of the Tarkwa Golf Club are jostling for the Vice-Captain position. The Deputy Tournament Director position will be contested by Prince Quaning Amponsah of the Obuasi Golf Club and Anthony Gbenyo of the Achimota Golf Club. Dauda Mahama will face it off with Godwin Sai all from the Achimota Golf Club for the Treasurer position.

KMA officers seize 15 cartons of rotten chicken destined for market, 2 arrested

Officers of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly on Friday, September 3, 2021, reportedly caused the arrest of Madam Abiba after seizing some 15 cartons of unwholesome frozen chicken she was transporting through the Adakwame lorry Station at Mbrom. The female suspect, following her arrest, led KMA Environmental Health officers to Kwadwo Asare as the individual who gave out the chicken to her. The KMA say Madam Abiba had intended on smoking or roasting the unwholesome chicken for sale within Asuofua, Adakwame, and Kejetia. The suspects according to the KMA have been sent to the Ridge Police Station in Kumasi for further investigation and possible prosecutionThe Assembly in a post on its social media has cautioned the general public to be mindful of the things it consumes while singling out one of its Metro Guards, Madam Abena Adutwumaa through whose diligence the suspects were arrested.

Bagre and Kompienga dams: Suspension of spillage brings relief
General News of Sunday, 5 September 2021Source: gbcghanaonline.comThe spillage of the Bagre and Kompienga dams in Burkina Faso which was supposed to have been spilled between August 27 and August 30, 2021, has been put on hold. This is because the water levels of the two dams have been stable since the alert was issued a week ago. According to SONABEL, the agency managing the two dams, as of Wednesday, September 1, 2021, the upstream level of the Kompienga dam was 174.95 metres with level rising while filling rate was 55.71 per cent as against 47.86 per cent on the same date in 2020. For the Bagre Dam, the upstream level was 234.41 metres with the level being stable while the filling was 92.11 per cent as against 100.33 per cent on the same date in 2020. SONABEL said the water level of the Bagre dam was stable and opening of the valves would be done when the height is 234.75 metres.

GIS busts 21 illegal migrants

Increase school children's feeding fees by 50 percent - GNSF

The PRO said the association was concerned about the welfare of their members, hence, the need for the government to make prompt payment of the second term feeding fee. She said the challenges included the mismatch of Ezwich card numbers, faulty and expired Ezwich cards, and non-payment of the Western and Western North regions, which they were hopeful would be resolved soon. Mrs. Aboagye said, their association was the only caterers’ association registered at the Registrar General's Department and recognized by the Ministry and the National Secretariat of GNSFP. She cautioned members across the country to be wary of people carrying themselves as an association and extorting monies from them.

Speaking on Citi News, Dr. Apaak said “We have been hearing about this proposal which was made by teacher unions. It is indeed very strange that the government today claims to have rolled out a policy where they are offering laptops to teachers at a 30% rebate. Isn’t it strange that the Vice President and Ministry of Education [can’t provide answers to some of the lingering questions?]. “This is a very poor attempt to plagiarize NDC’s manifesto promise to provide laptops to children from basic school to SHS all the way to tertiary schools. So this knee-jerk reaction to plagiarize a policy that we have proposed is only informing the government of its inability to properly plagiarize a well-thought policy we would have implemented if we had won.”

Rotation nurses and midwives threaten strike over arrears

Government unable to open land borders until majority are vaccinated – Nsiah-Asare
“We are looking at the data, we are looking at the science and everything that is happening. “The way to curb this pandemic, apart from the protocols is to ensure that a lot of people are immunized. They have been demanding that the government opens the land borders as many of them have their livelihoods tied to the movements of persons and goods across the borders. This has become necessary because since the novel Coronavirus was first recorded in Ghana in 2020, all land borders have remained shut till now, causing many to complain consistently about how this is affecting their economic well-beings. Reacting to claims that some persons, albeit this closure of the borders, have been corruptly bypassing the restrictions, Dr. Nsiah-Asare warned that the act be stopped.
