Atome Monkey factsAtome monkeys have a life span of 36-40 years and are divided into more than three troupes with leaders and a king named “Kakagbla” literally “Grandpa” which has four wives. He said the office got supplies of bananas from nearby communities for tourists since there was no cultivation of bananas in the town. Mrs. Barbara Oteng-Gyasi, former Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, commissioned the upgraded facilities of the Tafi Atome Monkey Sanctuary and Cultural Village in November 2020.

According to him, he organized a search team who searched around the facility including the septic tank for the missing man but to no avail. On Thursday, five days after the deceased had gone missing, it was reported that a group of children who visited the sawmill said they had spotted a dead body in the septic tank behind the community toilet. According to him, nobody could explain how the 48-year-old ended up in the septic tank which was covered with iron sheets nailed to wooden planks. The attendant at the facility, Terkpertey Daddy told GhanaWeb that he did not realize when the deceased visited the toilet.

The call is to compel the government to undertake region-specific projects with lasting impact in promoting a fair share of the National resource. The PIAC forum was organized as part of the Committee's tenth-anniversary celebration, and to create awareness on its monitoring and compliance role, to ensure that oil revenues were protected and well utilized. "Petroleum Revenues have been used to tackle too many national problems at the same time, thus weakening the greater potential impact of the oil resources," PIAC observed. PIAC also holds the belief that the few legacy projects should be identified and supported by the Annual Budget Fund Amount.

He later discovered the decomposed body at the bank of the river a few steps from his farm. The assembly member disclosed that he immediately invited the police after the news got to him.

According to reports, the caterer who has been tasked to feed students with one hot meal a day under the school feeding program is unable to meet the required standard. Per reports, students in other schools are enjoying properly cooked meals, unlike the Mirigu school where the food is short of a balanced diet. Boya Musah, the school caterer, was engaged under the school feeding program with the overall responsibility to cook and serve one hot balanced meal to the students. She was engaged in 2017 when the Mirigu SHS, a community day school was included in the feeding program. Also, inquiries revealed that the caterer had not been to the school or cooked meals for nearly a week.

Madam Banfro said child marriage had become a global problem, which spanned continents and cultures, and that according to available data, 15 million girls worldwide marry before their 18th birthday. “It also indicated that in Ghana girls from rural areas were twice more likely to become child brides than those in the urban areas. “The key causes of child marriage include poverty, culture, patriarchy, religion, and gender-based discrimination, which makes the children drop out of school while putting them into pregnancy and associated health dangers,” she said.
