On its investigations into the matter, the security agencies assured that persons found culpable in the incident will face administrative and legal punitive action. “We want to assure the general public of our unflinching commitment to peace, security and harmony in the country,” the statement said.

The 2021 Ghana Immigration Service recruitment has seen thousands of Ghanaian youths applying to be recruited into the security agency. The huge number of prospective recruits turning up at the various recruitment centres has largely been attributed to the level of graduate and youth unemployment in the country. Speaking to some prospective recruits who were going through body screening and document authentication at the El Wak Sports Stadium in Accra, two of the applicants told a GBC reporter what motivated them to apply. Speaking to GBC’s Alan Tagoe, the two said they expect to become billionaires from their salaries if they are recruited into the immigration service. Former President Mahama who was the 2020 presidential candidate of the opposition NDC, aside challenging the presidential election results in court, has on several occasions accused the EC and the government of perpetrating fraud in the elections. "The former President has said the EC thumb-printed one million ballot papers for the president of the Republic. In a latest statement reacting to the EC’s call, the National Communications Bureau of the NDC says it has all this while been yearning for transparent investigations into Mr Mahama’s allegations. “The NDC welcomes and accepts the call by the Electoral Commission for transparent investigations into allegations of electoral fraud made by H.E John Dramani Mahama relative to the conduct of the 2020 general elections. According to the NDC, these allegations poses grave danger to Ghana’s democracy hence the need for an independent investigation into the conduct of the 2020 general elections.

However, only last week, the report added, two researchers snapped a crystal-clear shot of this rare bird, perched on a branch in Ghana's Atewa forest. Nathaniel Annorbah, from the University of Environment and Sustainable Development in Ghana said Tobias and Williams' discovery was "sensational." BirdLife International, an environmental group, said the Shelley's Eagle Owl is listed as vulnerable with its decline in part, due to the clearance of its habitat by humans.
