The Ghana National Fire Service said the fire broke out near the Frankrab Cold Store shortly after 3:00 a.m., destroying four wooden shops and a metal container used as a store. Fire crews from the Sefwi Juaboso Station arrived within minutes but had to rely on portable extinguishers after their fire engine developed a fault. Preliminary investigations point to an electrical fault as the cause of the fire. The District Fire Officer, DO II Emmanuel Miah, was at the scene to supervise operations.
