BELLINGHAM — Coming into Friday night's game, the Bellingham High football team had one message it wanted to send to the rest of the Tri-Valley League. "We came into this game knowing that we were going to win," Bellingham wide receiver Calvin Polchlopek said. With the win, Bellingham improves to 3-2 overall and 1-0 in the TVL Small. "From the beginning of the week on Monday, I knew that we were going to win," Bellingham senior QB Gavin Elder said. After a statement win Friday night against previously unbeaten Dover-Sherborn, Bellingham isn't giving up its TVL Small crown without a fight.

ISTANBUL (Reuters) – Pierre Gasly was fastest for AlphaTauri in a wet final practice for the Turkish Grand Prix, with Formula One championship leader Lewis Hamilton, who has a 10-place grid penalty for Sunday’s race, doing only five laps. Hamilton’s main title rival Max Verstappen, two points adrift of the Mercedes driver with seven races remaining, was second fastest for Red Bull with Mexican team mate Sergio Perez third. Gasly’s time of one minute 30.447 seconds compared to Hamilton’s best of 1:23.804 in dry conditions in Friday practice. Framingham State nears 100% vax compliance; three students withdrew due to mandate

India’s TCS tops profit estimates on pandemic-led digitisation demand
BENGALURU (Reuters) -India’s Tata Consultancy Services Ltd topped quarterly profit estimates on Friday, boosted by growth in its key banking and financial services segment and a strong demand for digital services during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Mumbai-based company’s consolidated net profit rose 29% to 96.24 billion rupees ($1.28 billion) in the three months to Sept. 30, from 74.75 billion rupees a year earlier. Analysts on average had expected a profit of 96.01 billion rupees, according to Refinitiv data. Consolidated revenue from operations jumped 16.8% to 468.67 billion rupees, with the company’s banking and finance industries-focused unit posting a 14.3% rise compared with a year earlier. TCS said it added five more customers in the $100 million-plus range in the quarter compared with a year earlier, bringing the total to 54.

One of my current classes is a course on plastics pollution, which has been very eye opening to me. If you already produce some of the materials, it is easier to produce plastic, and if you produce plastic, it’s beneficial to produce the materials needed. And plastic pollution should also be considered pollution caused by fossil fuels. Plastic pollution isn’t just where it ends up. From its creation to its disposal, plastic pollutes.

Letter: Education puts equality within our grasp, though it’s up to us to reach out

When we focus less on standardized MCAS measures and the like especially from the pandemic-produced period that created such an extremely stressful learning environment, we open ourselves to this most enlivening aspect of our consciousness - learning. Teen faces assault charges after fireworks incident at Lincoln-Sudbury football game
SUDBURY — A local teen will face charges after police said they set off fireworks during last Friday night's Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School football game. Police said during the Oct. 1 football game against Fitchburg High School, someone began setting off fireworks during the fourth quarter of the game. The fireworks were shot low, forcing people to take cover, although no one was injured, police said. In the fallout of the fireworks incident, this week’s football game against Acton-Boxborough was moved to Thursday evening and high school fans were not allowed to attend. Wong thanked the Sudbury and Fitchburg police departments, as well as administrators at Lincoln-Sudbury and Fitchburg schools for the quick resolution.
