SHREWSBURY — Two years ago, Algonquin sophomore Caroline Kelly was a part of what ended up being the last ever Division 1 Central girls soccer sectional champions. Now a senior captain, she is trying to lead Algonquin to a deep playoff run in the new statewide tournament. In the second half, clinging to a one-goal lead, Algonquin had some chances. Early in the second half, Algonquin nearly extended its lead when a shot from Kelly went over the crossbar but under the football goal post.
