In the third set right-side hitter Reagan Rutherford went off for the Wildcats with six kills in the set to get Kentucky a 22-19 lead. The fourth set didn’t start well for Nebraska either, with the Wildcats getting some big blocks to take a 10-5 lead. Nebraska tied the match late on a difficult kill by Batenhorst because it came off a long bump set. Jackson and Beason had big kills down the stretch, and Kentucky hit out on match point. After a back-and-forth start to the match, Nebraska busted things open in the first set when Bergen Reilly served a 7-0 run for a 17-10 lead.

Colorado two-way standout Travis Hunter exited Saturday's contest against Colorado State and was taken to a local hospital for further evaluation. Hunter, who stars at both cornerback and wide receiver for Colorado, was running a go route down the left sideline when quarterback Shedeur Sanders' pass landed out of Hunter's reach. As Hunter let up with the ball falling to the ground, that's when Blackburn delivered the hit. He had two receptions for 21 yards, losing a fumble on one of them that Colorado State's Ron Hardge III returned 45 yards for a touchdown. The emotions carried into the game, with the teams combining for 16 penalties for 179 yards in the first half.

RIO DE JANEIRO, Sept 17, 2023 (BSS/AFP) - A three-year-old girl shot during a traffic stop by police in Brazil died Saturday of her injuries, officials said, in a case that drew outcry including from President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva. Relatives and witnesses told investigators she and her family were driving home on September 7 when federal highway police signaled them to stop, then opened fire on their car, hitting the girl in the neck and shoulder. The girl's father told investigators he was bringing the car to a stop when police opened fire, according to federal prosecutors, who on Friday requested the arrest of the three officers involved. According to Brazilian media reports, the officer who fired the shots told investigators he had heard gunfire and believed it was coming from the car.
