Two awarded death sentence in Jerin murder case in Habiganj
HABIGANJ, Sept 21, 2023 (BSS) - A court here today sentenced two people to death in sensational Modinatul Kubra Jerin murder case in 2020 in Sadar upazila of the district. Judge of Habiganj Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal-2 Sudipta Das handed down the verdict to Jakir Hossain, hailed from Dhal village in Sadar Upazila and Nur Hossain, an inhabitant at Patli village. Convicts Jakir and Nur Hossain took position in the CNG earlier. Following her death, Jerin's father filed a case in 2020 and police held Jakir and Nur Hossain. Testifying witnesses and evidences, the court gave the order in presence of Jakir Hossain.

When both ligands in the feminized worms were removed, Dhasel hypothesized that it would also lead to excessive oocyte production. “In my previous research lab, I didn’t do any projects. Since it was my first research experience, I had to learn the basic research skills,” Dhasel said. “Previously, I did a little research in a chemistry lab, but I really wanted to do something that centered around biology,” Dureus said. Although the results from her summer project were inconclusive, Dureus also plans to continue her research in the lab throughout the fall semester.

President mourns death of actress, dancer Zeenat Barkatullah
DHAKA, Sept 20, 2023 (BSS) - President Mohammed Shahabuddin today expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of Ekushey Award-winning dancer and television actress Zeenat Barkatullah. In a condolence message, he recalled her contributions to the country's cultural arena, terming it as an irreparable loss. The Head of State prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deepest sympathy to the bereaved family. Actress Zeenat Barkatullah died of old-age complications at her own residence in the city's Dhanmondi area this afternoon.

New urban trail mural honors Cosmic Ray and local Basque Shepard history
Local artist Joel Geist recently completed two murals honoring the local history of Basque sheep herding and local author and cyclist Ray Brutti, a.k.a. Cosmic Ray. Geist, of Red Frog Designs, was awarded the grant in spring to design and paint a mural in the tunnel – newly renamed Cosmic Ray Tunnel. The words “So Rolls On…on our Cosmic Ray” frame Brutti and a detail of the cosmos radiates from the center of his body. “The Basque farmers with a herd of sheep at one end and Cosmic Ray leading a herd of cyclists on the other,” he added.
