Six people killed in a three-way collision in Pirojpur
At least six people were killed in a three-vehicle collision involving a bus, a motorcycle, and a battery-run autorickshaw, locally known as Easybike, in Pirojpur Sadar Upazila, according to bdnews24.com. Several others were injured in the incident that occurred on the Parerhat road in Jhautola early on Friday morning, according to Md Ashikuzzaman, chief of the local police station. Three people died on the spot, while three others were declared dead upon arrival at the hospital.

Resilience despite resistance: The unique struggles of Khyang women
Ongkraching Khyang, 32, completed her education up to grade 10 in 2010, but financial hardship forced her to abandon her studies. Recently, she started working on a weaving project, earning Tk 4,000 a month for spinning yarn, another Khyang woman said. Despite her limited experience, she diligently works from dawn until dusk, hoping to earn more when she starts weaving cloth. Although the organisation she works for does not have much income, they support her in many ways. Ongkraching supports her sister's university education and younger brother's schooling financially by spinning yarn.

Woman ends life after poisoning children in B'baria
BRAHMANBARIA, Mar 07 (bdnews24.com): A woman died by suicide after poisoning two of her children in Brahmanbaria Sadar. Authorities recovered the body of 32-year-old Irene Akhter from Bhadughar's Elempara on Wednesday, according to Aslam Hossain, chief of Brahmanbaria Sadar Model Police Station. Irene's daughters, Toba, 06, and Sabah, 02, are currently undergoing treatment at the 250-bed General Hospital in Brahmanbaria. "The children are not out of danger yet. Nothing can be said before 48 hours have passed," Sumon Bhuiyan, the resident physician.

Family seeks justice over untimely death of architect Rajib Ahmed
The family of architect Rajib Ahmed, a student of the 2003 batch of the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, has brought allegations of medical negligence against two hospitals and demanded justice over his untimely death. Rajib’s wife, architect Sarawat Iqbal Tesha, pressed the demand at a media briefing at the Dhaka Reporters Unity Sagar-Runi Auditorium on Thursday. The architect had been receiving treatment from Samorita Hospital’s dermatologist Prof MU Kabir Chowdhury over the last one and a half years, Tesha said. He had gone to Dr Kabir for a routine health check-up on Jan 22 when the physician added the Acitretin 10 mg capsule to his prescription. He tried to meet Dr Kabir again when the pain worsened, but the doctor was not present in his chamber at Samorita.
