BANGKOK — The Vietnamese Embassy in Thailand on July 19 supported family members of those who died in the Bangkok hotel incident to receive their personal belongings handed over by Thai police, and continued to provide them with guidance on relevant consulate procedures. The office will continue to closely follow the incident and coordinate with relevant authorities, and take subsequent and necessary citizen protection measures. Earlier, on July 19 morning, Ambassador Phạm Việt Hùng received Sanan Angubolkul, Chairman of the Thailand-Việt Nam Friendship Association, who came to express condolences on the incident. The Connections Through Culture Grants will be awarded to new international collaborations to help the artists develop their work. QUẢNG NINH The body of the missing victim in the crash between two vessels at Quả Xoài Lagoon area has been found, according to Trần Đức Thắng, Chairman of the People's Committee of Quảng Yên Town on Friday. The deceased Lê Văn Cương (also known as Lê Văn Cấng), who was born in 1983 and who lived in Đông 2 Hamlet, Liên Vị Commune, Quảng Yên Town, was discovered around 5am, close to the site of the collision. At around 8.30am on Wednesday, Lê Văn Cương and eight others went to cut oysters in the Đèn Ba Lăng waters of Liên Hòa Commune. As soon as the incident report was released, Quảng Yên Town mobilised forces and equipment to search for the victim. The victim's body has been handed over to the family for funeral arrangements and Quảng Yên Town will implement support policies as per State regulations.

HÀ NỘI — The Government has issued a decree amending and supplementing the list of narcotics, adding 15 new substances which are banned. Under Decree 90/2024/NĐ-CP, 14 narcotic substances have been added to List II. These substances can only be used under strict regulations for analysis, testing, scientific research, criminal investigation or in medical fields as authorised by competent agencies. The substances and their possible salts include 3-Chloromethcathinone (3-CMC); 2-Methyl-AP-237; 3-Methylmethcathinone (3-MMC); ADB-4en-PINACA; ADB-FUBIATA; ADB-INACA; Alpha-PiHP; Butonitazene; Etazene; Etonitazepyne; MDMB-BUTINACA; MDMB-INACA; N,N-Dimethylpentylone; Protonitazene. The decree also adds Bromazolam to List III, which includes narcotic substances to be used for analysis, testing, scientific research, criminal investigation or in the fields of medicine and veterinary medicine as authorised by competent agencies.

He said human trafficking had taken a complex turn, as traffickers increasingly leverage social media platforms to trap unsuspecting individuals. "There have been reports of Vietnamese-led networks specialising in trafficking foreigners through Việt Nam to third countries," said Trình. He also said human trafficking in Việt Nam was most prevalent in the northern provinces bordering China, however recent border fence construction has prompted a southward shift in trafficking activities. "Communication efforts at border gates have resulted in 926 workers voluntarily abandoning their plans to leave the country after recognising the potential dangers of becoming human trafficking victims," said Thanh. Looking ahead, BGC remains steadfast in its commitment to eradicating human trafficking.
