Stella Immanuel's viral speech has drawn attention to a little-known group calling themselves "America's Frontline Doctors" who appear to exist to promote the common antimalarial drug in the fight against Covid-19. This virus has a cure -- it is called hydroxychloroquine," Immanuel exclaimed Monday as she stood on the steps of the Supreme Court in Washington at a so-called "White Coat Summit" of likeminded physicians. The debate over hydroxychloroquine has become supercharged politically with leaders like Trump and some fellow US conservatives cheerleading heavily in its favor. - Right-wing group -The website for "America's Frontline Doctors" was registered just 11 days ago, a web domain age checker revealed -- and the site was taken down by Tuesday afternoon. After Facebook took down the clip, Immanuel warned that the company's servers would start crashing until it was restored.

The decision to put off the hike for a year was endorsed by the City Council. However, in focusing solely on fee collection, the BMA and the City Council have missed an opportunity. They could encourage the city's 50 districts, that each generate waste differently, to come up with their own waste management plan. Higher amounts of plastic waste are discarded in populated areas and this requires different waste collection strategies. It would be better to hold city governor and city council elections as soon as possible in order that more qualified people can take over and serve the city more effectively.

The unseen human cost of cheap powerA photo from a Facebook user shows villagers waiting to be rescued as water rises following the Xe-Pian Xe-Namnoy dam collapse in Laos. They are still waiting for new houses promised by the Xe-Pian Xe-Namnoy Power Company (PNPC), the developer of the 410-megawatt dam. About 86% of the electricity generated from this dam is sold to Thailand under a 27-year power purchase agreement. While their livelihoods will likely not fully recover, the construction of the Xe-Pian Xe-Namnoy dam is complete. We also know the Xe-Pian Xe-Namnoy disaster could have been prevented had the constructors applied advanced engineering technology and methodology data.

Is there any impact to the EEC development project if the government changes the ministers who oversee the policy? This project would generate 306 billion baht for the government, another 62 billion baht in tax and create 15,600 jobs a year in the first five years. Amid the pandemic, how will the agency promote foreign investment into the EEC? The EEC Office still aims to increase investment applications for the corridor by 100 billion baht a year between 2019 and 2021 to a combined 300 billion baht in three years. Thailand is committed to increasing promotional privileges for five new S-curve industries to make them more enticing for foreign investment.

Trump ditches 'new tone' for old, false coronavirus theoriesUS President Donald Trump is back to promoting conspiracy theories about the coronavirus crisisWASHINGTON - Only days after proclaiming a sober new tone on the coronavirus pandemic, President Donald Trump reverted to spreading misleading medical information, criticizing his top expert and promoting conspiracy theories. The physician, who calls herself "God's battle axe," claims in the video that "the virus has a cure" in hydroxychloroquine. This was "the suppression of #Hydroxychloroquine by Fauci & the Democrats to perpetuate Covid deaths to hurt Trump," the tweet reads. -Trump's Twitter activity was made more remarkable by the fact that just a week ago he embarked on a distinctly more serious tone when discussing the out-of-control health crisis. Trump's support in pre-election polls has plummeted, with a large majority of voter saying they distrust the president on his handling of the coronavirus crisis.

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) released an updated global passenger forecast showing that the recovery in traffic has been slower than had been expected. In the base case scenario: Global passenger traffic (revenue passenger kilometres or RPKs) will not return to pre-COVID-19 levels until 2024, a year later than previously projected. The recovery in short-haul travel is still expected to happen faster than for long haul travel. June 2020 passenger traffic foreshadowed the slower-than-expected recovery. The June load factor set an all-time low for the month at 57.6%.

Photo by Pattarapong ChatpattarasillThe Public Health and Education ministries are looking to restore normal classroom operations as no new Covid-19 transmissions have been recorded since the beginning of the new term almost a month ago. The assessment found that all schools and other educational institutions had so far been free of Covid-19 infections. One was students studying for five days in a row at school, the other being those learning via the internet at home. Dr Taweesilp, however, said the special arrangement was flawed because poor students had limited access to adequate computer hardware and software needed for online learning. He also said poor students could not take advantage of the school lunch programme while studying at home.

China will limit their boys from Brazil, says top FA officialBrazil-born Elkeson (R) has played four games for China, scoring three goalsSHANGHAI - China's football squad will be limited to "three or four" Brazil-born players, a senior official told AFP, as ex-Chelsea star Oscar expressed an interest in becoming the latest Brazilian to represent the world's most populous country. Unless there is a radical policy change by FIFA, the Shanghai SIPG attacking midfielder will not be able to play for China because he has featured in competitive games for Brazil, including at the 2014 World Cup. But Chinese Football Association secretary-general Liu Yi laughed off the notion that ambitious China will turn into a team of Brazilians in a quick fix to reach the World Cup in Qatar. President Xi Jinping wants China to become a football superpower but the country has made the World Cup only once, in 2002, when they left without a point or a goal. "We had a little bit of concern when we gave the passport to Elkeson or whoever," Liu said in a rare interview by a senior Chinese football official.
