An estimated 10,000 to 15,000 Rohingya refugees have been slandered near Bangladesh-Myanmar border, said the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). The Rohingya entered Bangladesh through the Anjuman Para border crossing point in Ukhiya upazila of Cox’s Bazar district, UNHCR said in a statement issued on Tuesday. UNHCR Spokesman Andrej Mahecic expressed his concern about the humanitarian condition of thousands of new arrivals who are stranded near the Bangladesh-Myanmar border. Andrej Mahecic said the refugees UNHCR staff spoke to described walking for around a week to reach the Bangladesh border. UNHCR, the Bangladesh Red Crescent and Action against Hunger, are delivering food and water to the stranded refugees.
