Most of their heat and power is provided by this: Pickering Nuclear Generating Station, one of the largest nuclear power plants in the world. But in lucky Toronto, they have this emissions-free hero to keep the air clear and the atmosphere de-carboned. South of the border, nuclear power is the largest source of emissions-free energy in the United States. In France, nearly 90 per cent of their electrical grid is carbon-free, and that’s due almost exclusively to nuclear. So environmentalists love nuclear, right?
