An inmate who was on the loose after escaping a jail in Shediac has been caught, New Brunswick RCMP said in a press release late Monday afternoon. Lewis had escaped from Southeast Regional Correctional Centre, about 25 kilometres northeast of Moncton, around 5:20 p.m. on Feb. 12. The jail opened in Shediac in 2012, and Caissie said there's been no other issues for the area besides this escape.
