One dead following avalanche near B.C.-Alaska border


coroner's office is investigating after a person died following an avalanche in a remote area in the far northwestern part of the province Sunday. RCMP say police got a satellite SOS Sunday afternoon reporting an avalanche. It happened near Pleasant Camp and the Klehini River, close to the B.C.-Alaska border. Unfortunately, one was deceased, and the other four were uninjured, based on the information that I have," said Sgt. Avalanche Canada is rating the avalanche risk in the area as "considerable."
