The SNP are proposing a new, divisive referendum on Scottish independence. Scottish Liberal Democrats stood for election last year to the Scottish parliament on a platform to oppose a new independence referendum. Our MSPs will stick to our word, unlike the SNP, who have gone back on their promise that the 2014 experience was “once in a generation”. I am hugely concerned that the SNP proposal risks taking Scotland out of both the UK and out of the EU. Being outside both unions would be the worst of all worlds.
