The notoriously obnoxious Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Canada, is leaving town. Canada has not ordered Lu to leave, as several former diplomats and academics have advised. This will leave China without an ambassador in Canada for the foreseeable future. Canada is similarly without an ambassador in China. On Tuesday, in an interview with reporters in Ottawa, Ambassador Lu didn’t mention that he was on his way home.
