Jimmy Ralph has evolved into a solid presence on the field and off it, one of those zero-maintenance players every CFL covets. Unless something dramatically changes, it wouldn’t surprise anyone to see both Ralph and Noel line up as starters for the June 22 season opener. This indifference led to so many fans being unaware of last week’s pre-season game at Varsity, an 11 a.m. kickoff designed to accommodate the 4,000 school-aged kids who provided a much-needed environment. In last week’s pre-season matchup versus Montreal, he caught a touchdown pass. “I think early on, I was working hard, but I wasn’t working smart,’’ said Ralph of his evolution as an Argo.
