The General Teachers’ Union has called on the House of Representatives (HoR) to amend the law regulating salary increases in the education sector, in order to bring it in line with the increases granted to other sectors. In a statement, the union urged the approval of a fair salary increase for teachers and education sector employees, similar to those approved for members of Haftar’s forces, noting that the current financial situation and the state’s general budget make such an increase feasible. The union stressed that ensuring fairness in the distribution of salary increases and improving teachers’ living and professional conditions represents a genuine investment in the nation’s future, while also contributing to social stability and strengthening public trust in state institutions.
