The Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, has sent a message of condolence to Libya’s Presidential Council head, Mohammed Menfi, following the death of the country’s Army Chief of Staff, Field Marshal Mohammed al-Haddad, and his companions. Al-Haddad died in a tragic incident while returning from an official mission to Ankara. In his message, Aboul Gheit said he received the news “with deep sorrow and sadness,” offering heartfelt sympathy to Libya’s leadership and people. He prayed that the victims would be granted mercy and that their families — and the Libyan people — would be given patience and strength in their loss.
