Picture by Subham JyotiHowrah: Eastern Railway on Saturday got 19 allegedly illegal stalls inside Howrah station demolished. Officials said some of the stalls, spread across the concourse and between platforms 1 and 7, belonged to people who had accepted jobs as compensation for vacating the station. The stalls were originally owned by commissioned vendors of the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation, a subsidiary of the railways. There are still 60-odd commissioned vendors' stalls at the station.
