Wicklow Sports and Recreation Partnership had a busy year in 2020 in spite of restrictions on activities brought about by Covid. Aisling Hubbard, Coordinator Wicklow Sports and Recreation Partnership, said; '2020 has been a year like no other for sport and physical activity participation. During Level 5 lockdown with 2km travel limit, Wicklow Sports and Recreation Partnership introduced one of its most successful online programmes, 'Couch to 3k'. The Partnership's programmes were moved from sports halls and classrooms to kitchens, living rooms and back gardens. In 2020, Sport Ireland allocated over €870,000 in Programme Funding to the LSP Network, an increase of 53 per cent from the 2019 investment.
