Since co-owner Todd Boehly took over from Roman Abramovich in May 2022, the Blues have decided to hand out lengthy contracts to their new signings. Summer signings Moises Caicedo and Nicolas Jackson are also under contract until 2031 while Chelsea have nine other played tied down until 2030. According to The Athletic, some of Chelsea’s new arrivals have privately expressed regret at the long-term contracts they have signed. Chelsea are massively struggling again this season with the club 11th in the Premier League table after 23 games played.
