There is plenty of interest in the 25-year-old France international and according to the Independent, Arsenal and Liverpool have both explored deals for Mbappe. However, it is thought that neither Premier League side want to break their wage structure to sign the World Cup winner. Former Arsenal scout Gilles Grimandi says that not convincing Mbappe to sign for the club is the ‘biggest disappointment’ of his 15-year Gunners career. ‘We tried, and I really don’t think we were far from getting him, but he declined the project,’ Grimandi said.
