A second arborist has died in a windstorm-related fallen tree fatality in rural Milton. Two Miller Tree Service workers were clearing fallen branches and debris from utility lines in the Fourth Line and 20 Sideroad area around 5 p.m. Friday when they were struck by a fallen tree. Both were found underneath the weight of the tree and had to be extracted by firefighters. A 28-year-old man was pronounced dead on the scene and the second employee, 18, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and later died. “Their deaths will touch many of us personally as we share the grief of the Millers and their extended work family,” said longtime rural resident and town councillor Cindy Lunau.
