School vehicle not registered with RTO


Investigations reveal that the vehicle was not authorised to ferry school kids, neither had a logo nor the name of the schoolIn the school vehicle accident which happened on the Navapura road in Changodar, 20 people were injured including 19 students and a driver after a school vehicle collided with a truck. It was revealed during the investigation that the school vehicle was not registered with the Regional Transport Office (RTO) and it was not authorised to ferry schoolchildren. According to Changodar police sub-inspector JV Rathod, "The school vehicle which was carrying schoolchildren neither had any logo nor the name of the school. As per RTO norms, a school vehicle and driver's name should be registered with the RTO by the school authority. As per RTO officials, a school vehicle should be coloured yellow compulsorily.
