The editor-in-chief of Republic TV Arnab Goswami was arrested by the police on Wednesday for allegedly abetting suicide of a 53-year-old interior designer in 2018. As per initial information, Goswami has been charged under Section 306 and Section 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Republic TV channel telecast visuals of Mumbai Police entering Goswami's residence and what appears to be a scuffle. On June 30, the Bombay High Court stayed two FIRs registered against Goswami. In April this year, Goswami and his wife Samyabrata Ray were allegedly attacked when they were driving back home from the Republic TV Headquarters in Worli.
