Tourism players in Mombasa have blamed the recent anti-IEBC demonstrations for the low occupancy of most hotels beds in the south Coast. They said the political temperature experienced in the country following the protests saw bookings drop significantly. The weekly protests have been called off indefinitely after teams of Jubilee and Cord agreed on a dialogue formula. "We were expecting more guests during this high season but the recent anti-IEBC drama experienced in various parts of the country scared away visitors," she said.
