Boinnet rubbish claims 24,600 crime cases in 2015 involved police

Joseph Boinnet has refuted reports that uniformed police officers were involved in 24,647 cases of crime in 2015. He said the data by KNBS was established to have been misinterpreted in respect to the National Police Service Crime Statistics of 2015. The Inspector General termed the claims in a report doing rounds on social media allegedly from Kenya National Bureau of Statistics as false and misleading. The national police service, in this regard, demanded for retraction of the misrepresentation to the concerned media. "The national police service notes with concern continued comments, in references and quoting of misleading, inaccurate and distorted crime data purported to be contained in the Economic Survey, 2016 of the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics," Boinnet said.
