Eyewitnesses said the assailants held the fishermen at gunpoint for some time and fired several warning shots before carrying out the robbery. Meanwhile, the District Chief Executive for Awutu Senya West, Kalala Nyamkye, confirmed the incident and said a rescue boat had been dispatched to safely return the stranded fishermen to shore.
