Nhan Dan newspaper table tennis tournament kicks offVietNamNet Bridge – More than 100 athletes from 14 table tennis teams nationwide have been competing at the 36th Nhan Dan Newspaper National Table Tennis Tournament 2018 to win the Petro Vietnam-Ca Mau Fertiliser Cup, at the sport centre in Central Highlands province of Lam Dong. The 36th Nhan Dan Newspaper National Table Tennis Tournament 2018 gathers the leading athletes in the country, the best of whom will join the national table tennis team. The players have so far competed in various events including the men’s teams, women’s teams, men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s doubles and mixed matches. The organisers will give seven sets of medals, each set includes a first, a second and two third prizes while the Nhan Dan newspaper and its partner, Ca Mau Fertiliser Petro JSC, will give two encouraging prizes to the best male and female players. Over the course of the tournament, the Viet Nam Table Tennis Federation will select the best athletes to join the national table tennis team, and prepare them for the ASIAD Table Tennis tournament 2018, to be held later this year in Indonesia.
