New Waihemo ward councillor Jim Thomson was sworn in by Waitaki Mayor Gary Kircher and chief executive Fergus Power at an extraordinary council meeting yesterday. Mr Kircher congratulated Cr Thomson on his election and said it was great to have an official representative for the Waihemo ward at the council table again. As well as being sworn in, Cr Thomson was appointed associate chairman of the council’s development contributions committee.
