President Droupadi Murmu on Tuesday conferred the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke award upon famous actor Waheeda Rehman. The President presented the award to Rehman during the 69th National Film Awards ceremony, held at Vigyan Bhawan. “I am elated to honour Waheeda Rehman ji with Dadasaheb Phalke award. The announcement of the Dadasaheb Phalke honour coincided with the birth centenary of her “Guide” and “CID” co-star Dev Anand on September 26, 2023. Alia won the best actress National Film Award for her performance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s “Gangubai Kathiawadi”.
