The Spouse of the Deputy President Joyce Kithure has rallied Nairobi residents and leaders to unite and clean the city, saying it would restore its dignity. Kithure urged residents to take responsibility for their surroundings, saying Nairobi’s hygiene standards portrayed the country's state. Kithure pledged to extend the cleaning exercise to other parts of Nairobi, including Kibra, Mathare, Korogocho, and Mukuru. The second lady further insisted on habit changes such as responsible waste disposal and supporting recycling and sustainable waste management initiatives. Kithure reminded the residents that their daily participation would ensure the future of a clean Nairobi.
