In a statement on Wednesday, Oparanya said Namwamba has not been taking part in the party activities and is now seeking excuses to justify his failure as the secretary general ahead of next year's polls. Oparanya said Namwamba's utterances are an embarrassment to the community and only seeks to create divisions in the orange party. Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya has hit out at ODM secretary general Ababu Namwamba over remarks that the Budalang'i MP and the Luhya community are undermined in the party. “It is not a secret that the Secretary General has been missing in action and failing to provide leadership at critical moments,” he said. But Oparanya said, the Luhya community is well represented in the party will not be moved by his utterances.
