NCIC chairman Francis Kaparo and his team were nearly barred from addressing a peace meeting at the Nandi-Kisumu border on Wednesday. The group said they were tired of promises that have not been delivered by the national government over cattle rustling. Addressing the residents, the NCIC chairman said the government must take firm action against marauders. The NCIC chairman who could not even speak to the residents was forced to flee the meeting area and appealed to MPs to talk to the residents. They chanted: "Ole kaparo aende (Let Kaparo go)...no meeting...we were not aware of your coming.....peace ya nini (peace for what)".
